Merecumbe Hotel in Santa Marta, was born from a family project in which all spaces recreate the personal taste of each member of the family. It was born of a deep desire to live in the countryside, to abandon life in the city to change it by green landscapes and fresh air. It was a long way in search of the ideal place. We spent several years traveling through Colombia and this tour took us to beautiful places, gave us the possibility to discover our country in a different way. A long journey in which we fell in love with the green of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta and its solitary beaches.
Everything in this minimalist design hotel is done in detail. The father, an industrial designer and carpenter, has been his designer and architect, and the one responsible for the difficult task of materializing the ideas of his wife and children. All the furniture, from chairs and lamps, to doors and curtains, was designed and built in the workshop of carpentry of Merecumbe. With the firm idea of doing social work and positively impacting the region, we hired and trained the local human resources to form our construction and work team. Concerned about the balance and the ecosystem, we have made use of all the organic materials of our farm for the construction of this beautiful hotel.
